Up the Secret Staircase – A Library Tour of the Palace

2026. 11. 14. 11:00

This guided tour, devoted exclusively to the palace libraries, offers visitors the opportunity to discover our book collections, their history and the main themes they explore.

Many of our visitors are struck by the richness of our book collections. The palace library houses nearly 15,000 volumes, as well as several archival collections.

During this tour devoted to the palace libraries, particular attention will be given to our two most important collections: the archives and library of historian and writer Ferenc Fejtő, covering the history of Central Europe, sociology and international relations; and those of genealogist and heraldist Szabolcs de Vajay, focusing on heraldry and the history of the European nobility.

Visitors will have the opportunity to browse books dating back several centuries, discover rare documents, some of which are unique to our library, and learn about the research opportunities offered by our collections.

The tour is in Hungarian. English-language tours must be booked separately.
