In the 1920s, the Károlyi family invited a French chef, René Legros, to work at the palace, where he remained for ten years. He became renowned for his grilled sole and elaborate pastries, which the Hungarian aristocracy delighted in tasting at Csurgó.

This tradition lives on at Károlyi Kastély. Inspired by Hungarian and French culinary heritage, our chef creates seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, including products from our kitchen garden.
